Fire Breathers Act
Bio
A fire breathers act is a performance where skilled performers, known as fire breathers or fire eaters, manipulate fire using their breath and mouth. Fire breathing is a specialized skill that involves safely exhaling a fine mist of flammable fuel over an open flame, creating a spectacular fireball effect.
In a fire breathers act, the performer typically holds a torch or fire prop and sprays a controlled stream of fuel, such as kerosene or lamp oil, from their mouth towards an ignition source, usually a lit torch or fire poi. As the fuel passes through the flame, it ignites and creates a momentary burst of fire.
Fire breathers often incorporate additional elements into their act, such as fire eating, where they extinguish and relight the flames on torches using their mouth, or fire transfers, where they pass the fire from one torch to another using their breath or specialised fire tools.
